No. S-71 is a single truck line car formerly owned by the Bay State Street Railway and its successor Eastern Massachusetts Street Railway. It is reported to have been constructed in 1915 from a snow plow body and a passenger car truck. First used in Gloucester, and later, Salem, for many years, it was last based at the Salem Street carhouse of the Boston Elevated for use on the Stoneham route of the Eastern Mass.
It came to the Museum in 1945, the first post-war acquisition.
